Antimicrobial and antibiofilm activities of Cichorium intybus: a review

The plant Cichorium intybus L., also known as Chicory, is found in different parts of the world and has a rich phytochemical composition. Within its spectrum action, been studied about performance against pathogenic microorganisms biofilm. Therefore, objective present study to realize literature review on antimicrobial antibiofilm actions species intybus. For this, searches were carried out databases PubMed / MEDLINE, EMBASE, Gale - Academic OneFile Science Direct for articles published until August 2020, using MeSH descriptors “Anti-infective agents“, “Dentistry” “Periodontal disease” derivatives together with keyword “Cichorium intybus” variants.
